You get 8 slapped together "scenes" of what I presume to be a campaign coming in future updates. Even for an Early Access title, this game has the absolute bare minimum of content. Then why do I give this a thumbs down? Well it's simple really. I honestly don't think we even deserve them as consumers. This review will be updated upon further development.įirst of all. One final thought, lesson, really: to load custom levels (as of this writing) you have to open level editor and choose LOAD game and you'll see all the workshop maps you subscribed to. Consider that as of writing this I've put in 13 hours of gameplay. Consider that you can finish a level in less than a minute (unless you play endless). Consider, as of writing this, the maps are not very large. That leaves you desensitized to that which it delivers. A cheap, effective, addictive street drug. No more getting excited, it's all internal. The thing is, stimulant drugs do that to you until you get a tolerance. I wish that I could throw in a few exclamation marks into this "review", to express some kind of excitement. Is it the best of its kind that's ever been? Not for me to say. Is this the best game of it's kind that will ever be? I hope not. Once you see that the controls are quite well designed for the purpose of the game, once you check this game's videos out and think about what you saw, maybe even, like me, once you try it and refund it, you'll realize. The violence, the action, the speed, the vision of the developer. But as something I was missing from my life, this game fills a void that is indescribable. You don't want to be reminded of the screenshots and (numerous) videos of this game on the internet by me simply confirming that what you see is what I'm typing here. You don't want to know if the game is good or not, you already see my thumbs-up. Closer.įinally, I found myself watching BlueDrake on youtube who was playing a Goldeneye 64 remake in Max Action and I had that Arrested Development moment: "I made a huge mistake". Less than a week later, I was jonsing for another shot, but definitely not Max Action. I recalled the short time I gave Max Action a chance and did miss it. You know the saying, "You don't know what you got until it's gone." What's not to love? Well, the controls, the graphics, and the movement. Originally I loved the videos on the Maximum Action Steam profile page.
